Code of Conduct

As part of the KSK, we come together within the German-speaking world as students of art history, art studies, and related subjects to engage in dialogue with one another. To this end, we aim to treat and acknowledge the various personal and academic perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds with respect. The Code of Conduct is therefore intended to serve as a means of ensuring respectful and safe interaction between all participants and to actively make it clear that abuse of power, harassment, and discriminatory behavior are not permitted at our event and are strongly rejected. The Code of Conduct applies to all program items, whether academic discussion rooms or informal exchanges.

By participating in the 108th KSKs in Braunschweig, you agree to comply with the Code of Conduct and acknowledge that the Awareness Team has the authority to intervene in the event of a violation and that exclusion from the event is possible as a consequence. Security services or the police should be avoided if possible in the interests of all and will only be called in after consultation with the persons concerned. The Awareness Team is a safe first point of contact and is always open to feedback and constructive criticism.

Code of Conduct

  • All participants are expected to treat each other with understanding, tolerance, and respect, regardless of social, cultural, or religious background, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other identity characteristics. All people are welcome and accepted regardless of sexual or religious orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, economic status, etc.

  • No form of discrimination will be tolerated, whether racist, sexist, queer- or transphobic, ableist, based on social origin, religion, or other characteristics.

  • All forms of violence (verbal/physical/psychological) will not be tolerated.

  • Mindful and sensitive interaction with one another is expected, including within scientific discussions.

  • The opportunity should be created within an error-friendly and sensitive space to engage in a considerate exchange of differences and to tolerate contradictions.

  • Consensus within interpersonal interactions is a prerequisite. One's own boundaries, as well as those of others, should always be respected and recognized. Consensus that has been given can and may be withdrawn
